Our CoachesHead Coach Georgann Tice
I grew up swimming at the former Parlin Y in Sayreville and Frog Hollow was our cross town rival. Though I played several sports at Sayreville HS, they did not have a swim team so I completed for the very old Perth Amboy Y and then TCNJ. I went into teaching and when Sayreville started a team in the 80s, I was the head coach for the Swim and Dive team. Along the way I met my husband who swam for FH and coached at Parlin. We have spent many hours on many decks coaching together during our 42 years of marital bliss and have one daughter Kate who was a Former Frog and went on to compete at UCONN.
I started coaching as an assistant to Carol Van Asses ( the Policari’s aunt) and later became the Head Coach when Carol retired. Coaching at Frog Hollow for past 20 years has been my joy. I enjoy coaching the older swimmer who wins conferences as much as the beginner who swim one lap. My greatest pleasure is working with an 8 years old and years later having that swimmer give a senior speech at our banquet.
Assitant Coach Maureen McKenna
I have been the assistant coach at Frog Hollow for the past 7 summers. I started off coaching the 8-12 year old swimmers, but last summer, I took over the 8&under group. I started my swimming career at Frog Hollow when I was 5 years old and have loved the sport ever since. I continued swimming for Frog Hollow until I graduated high school and also swam throughout the year for Red Bank YMCA. I recently just finished up my final season of swimming at Fordham University where I was a member of the varsity team for the past 4 years. My favorite thing about coaching is seeing the smiling faces of all the kids at practice…it always brings back memories of my own childhood days at Frog Hollow!
I am looking forward to continue coaching this summer and I cannot wait to see what this year has to offer for the Frogs!
